Lahore, October 25,2026: Shadab Khan’s sensational unbeaten century against England on Sunday sparked widespread praise on social media after the all-rounder rescued Pakistan from the brink of defeat and secured a dramatic one-wicket victory in the ODI tri-series at Gaddafi Stadium.
Shadab smashed an unbeaten 113 off 96 balls, including 13 fours and five sixes, as Pakistan chased down England’s 242-run target to book their place in the October 31 final.
Walking in after Pakistan’s top order had collapsed, Shadab stood firm as wickets continued to fall around him. The hosts were reduced to 154-9, still needing 88 runs, leaving Shadab and Haris Rauf with the daunting task of completing the chase.
Shadab held his nerve under pressure, brought up his maiden ODI century and guided Pakistan towards victory. Haris then struck the winning boundary as Pakistan completed the chase in 47.1 overs.
The remarkable comeback quickly became a talking point online, with fans celebrating Shadab’s innings and Pakistan’s last-wicket rescue.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) led the tributes, posting on X: “SHADAB SUPERSTAR KHAN! WHAT A KNOCK!”
In another post, the board wrote: “A century to savour. Shadab Khan, take a bow.”

“What a stunning victory for Pakistan!” another user wrote, describing Shadab as the hero of the chase.
Others praised the combined effort of Shadab and Haris, with one fan calling it “an absolute thriller” and applauding their “unbelievable effort and outstanding performance”.
Some supporters compared Shadab’s match-winning display with the heroics of former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, while others celebrated the result with messages such as, “What a win by Pakistan. Shadab Khan did it.”
“Shadab Khan has done it single handedly,” one user posted, while another urged cricket followers to “remember the name”.
“Shadab Khan!!! What a player,” another fan wrote.
