Islamabad, October 28,2026: Nordic International Water (NIW), a Danish water management company, has marked five years of its establishment, highlighting its commitment to strengthening cooperation between Denmark and Pakistan in water management, wastewater infrastructure and sustainable urban development.
Danish Ambassador to Pakistan Maja Derrous Mortensen attended the company’s anniversary celebration in Islamabad, where she highlighted the importance of NIW’s long-term commitment to Pakistan and its close collaboration with local partners.
Established in Denmark five years ago, NIW opened its Pakistan office in 2023 to bring Danish expertise closer to Pakistan’s water management needs. The company works on planning and improving water and wastewater infrastructure while supporting more efficient and sustainable water services.
Pakistan faces significant challenges in water management and sustainable urban development, making international cooperation and knowledge-sharing increasingly important. Partnerships that combine international expertise with local experience can play a vital role in developing effective, long-term solutions.
