Lahore, November 2,2026: Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Oumer H. Oba visited Sundar Industrial Estate on Monday to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation with traders, entrepreneurs and industrialists from Punjab.

The visit included a business forum with members of the Sundar Trade and Industry Association (STIA) and an interactive session with a delegation of pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sector executives led by Ghulam Bassi, CEO of G.T. Pharma.

Addressing the business forum, Ambassador Oba held discussions with STIA members representing agriculture, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, surgical goods, nutraceuticals and fertilizers.

He briefed participants on Ethiopia’s economic transformation and its advantages for investors, including affordable and reliable energy, a skilled workforce and access to wider African markets.

The Ambassador also highlighted incentives available to foreign investors, including one-window operations, investment guarantees, profit repatriation and zero-rated taxes in specific sectors.

He invited STIA members to undertake an exploratory visit to Ethiopia to gain first-hand knowledge of the country’s investment facilities, economic development and business opportunities.

STIA President Muhammad Irfan Qadri underscored the importance of bilateral cooperation and assured the Ambassador of his full support in mobilizing a delegation of association members to visit Ethiopia.

He appreciated Ethiopia’s economic development and highlighted the potential for business and investment opportunities for STIA members. Chairman of the Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) Shahzad Ahmed Khan and the Senior Vice President of STIA also spoke on the occasion.

During the interactive session with pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sector representatives, Ambassador Oba responded to their queries and outlined initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties between the two countries.

The visit also included tours of major industrial units involved in agricultural mechanization and textile spinning. The Ambassador and his delegation visited Ferozsons and BF Bio Sciences, where they explored opportunities for cooperation with the companies’ senior management.

The Ambassador also planted saplings at the industrial units, highlighting the shared commitment of Ethiopia and Pakistan to climate resilience.
