Havana, November 5,2026: Cuban authorities, along with members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Havana, paid tribute to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of his birth.

The ceremony was attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Cuba, Shahbaz Mansoor Malik, Cuban Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Anayansi Rodríguez and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

A statue honouring Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was also unveiled during the ceremony, commemorating his historic role in the creation of Pakistan and his legacy as the founder of the independent South Asian nation.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Shahbaz Mansoor Malik highlighted Quaid-e-Azam’s vision and leadership in the establishment of Pakistan.

He described the unveiling of the statue in Cuba as a reflection of the longstanding friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

“We share a strong bond of solidarity and brotherhood with Cuba,” the Pakistani ambassador said.

Ariel Lorenzo, Director of Asia and Oceania at Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recalled the history of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Cuba and highlighted the longstanding ties between the two nations.

In exclusive remarks to Prensa Latina, Ambassador Mansoor Malik reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Cuban people, particularly in their efforts against the coercive measures imposed by the United States on the Caribbean nation.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, widely known as the Great Leader, was born in Karachi on December 25, 1876.

A London-trained lawyer, he initially began his political career in the Indian National Congress, where he advocated Hindu-Muslim unity before emerging as the leading figure of the Pakistan Movement.

His leadership and political vision culminated in the establishment of Pakistan as an independent state on August 14, 1947, securing his place in history as the nation’s founding father.
