Islamabad, November 6,2026: British Security Minister Dan Jarvis has visited Pakistan for the first time to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries, with discussions focusing on counter-terrorism, serious organised crime, illegal migration, visa fraud and regional stability.

During his visit, Minister Jarvis held meetings with senior Pakistani political, military and law-enforcement officials to explore avenues for enhancing practical cooperation on shared security challenges.

The discussions covered intelligence and information sharing, operational coordination and strengthening institutional capabilities to counter terrorist and criminal networks.

The British minister held separate talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The discussions focused on regional security developments, particularly the situation in Afghanistan, as well as bilateral cooperation in counter-terrorism and efforts to combat serious organised crime.

Speaking during the visit, Dan Jarvis said the UK and Pakistan faced shared security threats and could achieve better results through closer cooperation.

He emphasised that terrorism, serious organised crime, illegal migration and visa fraud were cross-border challenges requiring practical collaboration with trusted international partners.

The minister said his visit aimed to translate the longstanding relationship between the two countries into tangible results by disrupting criminal networks, improving the exchange of vital information and strengthening the capabilities needed to protect communities in both countries.

He reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan to address common security challenges and enhance cooperation for the safety and security of citizens in both countries.
