Islamabad, November 7, 2026: Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Zulqarnain Khan.
Gilani telephoned the deceased’s son, Raja Babar Ali Zulqarnain, and conveyed his heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family.
The Chairman Senate said Raja Zulqarnain Khan was an important political and public figure who had played a significant role in the political and democratic development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said the late leader’s contributions to public service and welfare would always be remembered.
Paying tribute to his services for the Kashmir cause, Gilani said Raja Zulqarnain Khan had made valuable efforts to highlight the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and raise his voice for the rights of the Kashmiri people.
He observed that the demise of the former AJK president was a great loss to the political and public life of the region, adding that his political insight, commitment to public service and dedication to the Kashmir cause would be remembered with respect.
Gilani prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the departed soul eternal peace and a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and give the bereaved family the strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.
