Islamabad, December 3, 2024- A private airline flight at Islamabad Airport was cleared by security officials following a bomb threat that turned out to be a hoax. The false alarm caused panic among passengers and airline management, prompting a full-scale security operation.
The flight, scheduled to depart for Karachi at 2 PM, was delayed after the captain informed the control tower about the reported threat. Security teams conducted a thorough search of the aircraft, and the bomb alert was ultimately declared baseless.
Authorities revealed that the hoax was traced back to two individuals, who were arrested after receiving the false information from a third party.
Among the passengers on board were eight Members of the National Assembly, including Deputy Speaker Mustafa Shah. The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) spokesperson confirmed, “Once the aircraft is cleared, it will be used for the next flight.”
