Agra, December 3, 2024- A bomb threat prompted a temporary closure of the iconic Taj Mahal on Tuesday, causing panic among visitors and necessitating immediate security measures. Authorities received the threat via email, leading to the deployment of bomb disposal squads and dog units to the site, Indian media reported.

After a thorough inspection, the threat was deemed a hoax, and no explosive devices were found. The Agra police and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) ensured the safety of the premises before reopening it to the public. Efforts are underway to trace the origin of the email and identify those responsible for the false alarm.
