Islamabad, December 6, 2024: Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, announced on Friday that the Serena Chowk Interchange project would now be completed in three months, significantly reducing the original timeline of ten months. During his visit to the construction site, he directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to expedite the work and ensure its timely completion.
The Interior Minister inspected the ongoing construction activities and emphasized that the project’s completion would provide a long-term solution to Islamabad’s traffic issues, benefiting both residents and visitors from other cities. He highlighted that the interchange, featuring two underpasses and connecting roads, would greatly improve transportation efficiency in the capital.
Mohsin Naqvi assured that he is personally monitoring the project to ensure adherence to the new deadline and instructed round-the-clock construction to meet the revised schedule. He also stressed the importance of implementing a strict alternative traffic plan during construction to minimize disruption and maintain a smooth flow of traffic.
During the visit, senior officials, including the CDA Chairman and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, briefed the minister on the project’s progress. Naqvi reiterated the government’s commitment to completing the interchange within the stipulated period while ensuring effective traffic management throughout the construction phase. He expressed confidence that this mega project would resolve Islamabad’s traffic challenges for years to come.
