Karachi, December 7, 2024 – The Parliamentary Party of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) convened an important meeting at Zardari House, chaired by Mrs. Faryal Talpur, President of the PPP Women’s Wing.
After thorough deliberations, the party unanimously rejected the recently issued Presidential Ordinance, labeling it as contrary to the aspirations and democratic will of the people of AJK. The PPP asserted that the ordinance undermines democratic processes and the rights of the people, calling on the AJK government to immediately withdraw it in the best interest of its citizens.
The meeting was attended by all members of the PPP AJK Parliamentary Party, including senior leaders such as Sardar Yaqoob Khan, Chaudhry Muhummad Yaseen, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, and others.
The participants resolved to stand firmly with the people of AJK and pledged to uphold their democratic rights. The PPP reaffirmed its commitment to justice, fairness, and the preservation of the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The rejection of the ordinance highlights the PPP’s stance on protecting democratic norms and ensuring the voices of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir are respected and represented.
