Islamabad, January 13, 2025: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued a show cause notice to senior party leader and National Assembly member Sher Afzal Marwat over alleged violations of party discipline.

The notice accuses Marwat of making unauthorized public remarks critical of the party’s negotiation team, thereby undermining ongoing discussions and breaching PTI’s code of conduct. It emphasizes his prominent roles as a National Assembly member and Core Committee participant, underscoring the expectation of confidentiality and discipline in his public communications.

PTI claims Marwat’s repeated statements contradicted internal policies and damaged the party’s image. The issue was reportedly escalated to party chairman Imran Khan, who directed disciplinary action against Marwat.

“Sher Afzal Marwat spoke without considering the consequences, causing harm to the party on multiple occasions. Such conduct is unacceptable and necessitated this action,” the notice reads.

Marwat has been given seven days to respond to the notice. Failure to comply within the specified timeframe will lead to further disciplinary measures in line with PTI’s policies.
