Peshawar, January 13, 2025: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has issued a stern warning to hostile elements, declaring that any attempts to disrupt the peace and stability of Pakistan will be met with an “iron hand.” The statement was made during his visit to Peshawar, as shared by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.

Speaking at a security briefing, the COAS emphasized the military’s commitment to eliminating threats posed by terrorism. “The enemy may try to sow discord and fear, but we will not relent. They will continue to suffer heavy losses, and their capacity to inflict harm will be decimated,” he asserted.

During the visit, General Munir received a detailed overview of the security landscape and counter-terrorism efforts targeting “Fitna Al Khwarij,” a reference to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Key political and military figures, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, were present at the briefing.

The army chief lauded the sacrifices and resolve of Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies, who have been instrumental in dismantling terrorist networks. “Through their dedication, courage, and supreme sacrifices, we have successfully degraded the operational capabilities of terrorist organizations, both within our borders and beyond,” he said.

He reiterated the commitment to continue the fight against terrorism until its logical conclusion. “Every operation reflects the courage, professionalism, and readiness of our security forces, who tirelessly work to thwart evolving threats and ensure the safety of our citizens.”

General Munir praised the exceptional morale of the troops, highlighting their steadfast commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty. “Our forces and law enforcement agencies are an unbreakable shield, resolute in their mission to protect Pakistan and its people,” he stated.

Separately, the COAS engaged with political representatives from various parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, underscoring the importance of unity in the fight against terrorism. According to the ISPR, the participants unanimously agreed on the need for a unified front beyond political differences to counter the extremist ideology of terrorist groups.
