Multan, January 19, 2025– Mohammad Rizwan etched his name among Pakistan’s legendary wicketkeepers on Sunday, reaching a remarkable milestone during the first Test against the West Indies. The 32-year-old now boasts 107 dismissals in just 64 innings, cementing his place in the upper echelon of Pakistan’s Test wicketkeepers.

The all-time record for most dismissals by a Pakistani wicketkeeper belongs to Wasim Bari, who achieved 228 dismissals in 146 innings. He is followed by Kamran Akmal (206 dismissals in 99 innings) and Sarfaraz Ahmed (182 dismissals in 104 innings). Moin Khan (147 dismissals in 118 innings) and Rashid Latif (130 dismissals in 69 innings) complete the prestigious list.

Rizwan’s achievement came on a day when Pakistan’s bowlers, led by Sajid Khan and Abrar Ahmed, delivered a dominant performance, helping Pakistan secure a resounding 127-run victory over the West Indies to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.

While Pakistan’s bowlers stole the show, Rizwan’s 107th dismissal was a personal highlight. Achieving the milestone in just 64 innings reflects his consistency and excellence behind the stumps.

Pakistan’s performance sets them up perfectly for the second Test, scheduled to begin on January 25, where they will aim to seal the series. For Rizwan, his latest achievement further solidifies his status as one of Pakistan’s finest wicketkeepers in Test cricket history.
