Gaza, January 19, 2025– Palestinian resistance group Hamas has released three Israeli female hostages, handing them over to the International Red Cross. According to Arab media, the Red Cross team traveled to Gaza City to facilitate the transfer of the hostages.
The released women, identified as Rumi Gonen, Emily Damari, and Veron Shatenberg Kher, were handed over to the Red Cross, which will transport them to a designated Israeli military location near Gaza. From there, they will undergo initial medical examinations before being transferred to a hospital, where they will reunite with their families.
Arab media further reported that Israel, in return, will release 90 Palestinian detainees as part of the agreement. The detainees include 69 women and 21 children, who will be freed from detention centers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
