Islamabad, May 8, 2025: In a startling revelation, a U.S.-based news channel, CNN, has reported what it calls the “longest dogfight” between Pakistan and India, involving as many as 125 fighter jets from both countries. The report states that the aerial clash lasted for over an hour, with aircraft from both sides engaged in direct combat without crossing into enemy airspace.

According to CNN’s report, the confrontation took place late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with Pakistan Air Force (PAF) reportedly standing firm against Indian aggression. The U.S. channel acknowledged that PAF successfully acted as a barrier, thwarting India’s attempted incursion.

The report further claims that the two sides maintained engagement strictly within their respective airspaces. Pakistani officials have stated that five Indian jets were shot down, with some allegedly targeted and destroyed from as far as 160 kilometers away using advanced missile systems.

Referring to the 2019 incident where an Indian aircraft was downed and its pilot captured, CNN notes that this past experience influenced India’s decision to instruct its pilots not to cross the border during the recent clash.

The U.S. outlet also commended the precautionary measures taken by Pakistani forces, including the preemptive evacuation of civilians from potential target zones, which significantly minimized casualties.

This report has yet to be officially confirmed by either the Pakistani or Indian defense ministries, and regional observers are closely monitoring the development for potential escalation.
