Lahore, February 7, 2025: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi hosted a special luncheon to honor over 1,500 laborers for their dedication in completing the renovation of Gaddafi Stadium in record time.

Naqvi personally visited the workers at their seats, engaged with them, and shared a meal, expressing his gratitude for their tireless efforts. The workers, delighted by the recognition, took selfies and pictures with the PCB chairman.

“This achievement was only possible because of your hard work and dedication,” Naqvi told the workers, acknowledging their contribution to the successful completion of the project.

As a token of appreciation, Naqvi invited the laborers to attend the upcoming Pakistan vs. New Zealand match at the stadium. “You are the true heroes of this nation and deserve all the recognition,” he remarked.

The workers shared their excitement about the stadium’s completion after three months of effort. One laborer noted, “Mr. Mohsin, your hard work has paid off. We saw you here every morning and evening, ensuring the project’s success.”

The luncheon featured a lavish menu, including mutton qorma, chicken roast, beef pulao, naan, zarda, fresh salad, raita, cold drinks, mineral water, and Kashmiri tea.

The event was also attended by senior PCB officials, Adviser Amir Mir, Chief Operating Officer Sameer Ahmed, PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer, Pakistan cricket team captain Muhammad Rizwan, Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza, Project Director of FWO, and representatives from NESPAK.

Naqvi reiterated his commitment to Pakistan’s cricketing future, stating that the completion of Gaddafi Stadium marks a new milestone for the sport and its fans.
