Islamabad, September 9, 2024 — Islamabad Police have arrested PTI leader and Member National Assembly Sher Afzal Marwat outside the Parliament House. The federal police-initiated action following the violation of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the PTI rally held yesterday in Sangjani. Sources report that Marwat resisted arrest. Additionally, there is a possibility that Umar Ayub and Zartaj Gul may also face arrest.

The PTI rally, initially scheduled to end by 7:00 PM last evening, continued until midnight, despite a warning from the Islamabad administration. The administration had issued a notification urging the party to adhere to the schedule or face consequences. An FIR has been filed against local PTI leadership and workers for deviating from the approved route and throwing stones at the police.
