Islamabad, March 1, 2025: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have urged the nation to embrace the spirit of charity and compassion during the holy month of Ramadan by extending support to the poor and underprivileged.

In his message marking the start of Ramadan 1446 Hijri, President Zardari emphasized the importance of alms-giving and selflessness, stating that helping the needy is essential for building a strong, progressive, and compassionate society. “This sacred month teaches us patience, perseverance, equality, and unity. It provides an opportunity for self-purification and renewal, bringing us closer to Allah Almighty,” he said. He also stressed that Ramadan reminds people of the struggles faced by the underprivileged and called on the nation to rise above personal interests to aid those in need.

The president prayed for peace, stability, and prosperity in Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah, urging citizens to embody the values of sacrifice and generosity.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed similar sentiments, calling on the people to remember the poor and help them according to their means. “Ramadan is a month of blessings and mercy that strengthens our bond with Allah and teaches us gratitude, compassion, and sacrifice,” he said.

He urged the nation to keep in their prayers the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to unity within the Muslim world. “This is the time to strengthen the unity of the Ummah and promote cooperation and brotherhood,” he added.

The prime minister prayed for Pakistan’s stability and prosperity, calling on citizens to engage in worship, charity, and acts of kindness throughout the holy month. “May Allah shower His blessings upon us and bind us together in love and brotherhood,” he concluded.
