PM Shehbaz, British envoy discuss bilateral ties, global peace efforts

Islamabad, March 3, 2025: British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and addressing global peace challenges, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz conveyed his greetings to King Charles III, extending his best wishes for the monarch’s speedy recovery. He also reiterated Pakistan’s invitation for His Majesty to visit the country at his earliest convenience.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress in Pakistan-UK relations, the prime minister highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between the two nations. He also stressed the need for collective international efforts to promote lasting peace in conflict zones, particularly in Gaza and Ukraine.

In response, High Commissioner Marriott reaffirmed the UK’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Pakistan and supporting the country’s national progress and development.

The discussion underscored the long-standing ties between the two countries and their shared commitment to global stability.
