Lahore, March 12, 2025: The Pakistan national cricket team has departed for New Zealand to compete in a highly anticipated five-match T20 series, set to begin on March 16 in Christchurch.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the 16-member squad embarked on their journey from Lahore via Dubai, heading to New Zealand for the crucial series as part of their preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The squad features several fresh faces, with Abdul Samad and Hassan Nawaz earning their maiden call-up to the national team.
Vice-captain Shadab Khan, speaking before departure, expressed confidence in the team’s blend of youth and experience. “Many young players have been included, and they bring a different, positive energy. We have high expectations from the newcomers, and we aim for success,” he stated.
The series against New Zealand is expected to be a key test for Pakistan as they finalize their T20 World Cup preparations, with selectors closely monitoring the performance of emerging players.
