Gwadar, March 27, 2025: At least six passengers were killed in a brutal attack on a Karachi-bound bus in Gwadar’s Kalmat area on Wednesday night.
According to authorities, five victims died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries later in the hospital. The deceased, all traveling to Karachi, included a man from Multan.
The attack adds to the rising violence in Balochistan. Just days earlier, armed assailants killed four workers from Punjab in Mangochar. The victims, involved in tubewell installation in Langzai, were identified as residents of Sadiqabad, Punjab.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the Gwadar attack. In separate statements, they offered condolences to the victims’ families and prayed for the recovery of the injured.
President Zardari denounced terrorism as a threat to national development, particularly in Balochistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif instructed authorities to ensure the best medical care for the injured and conduct a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to combating terrorism, the prime minister vowed to thwart anti-state agendas. He also praised security forces for their efforts in maintaining national security.
