Islamabad, March 28, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Palestine and Jammu & Kashmir in their struggle for freedom. Speaking at the “Rab-e-Zuljalal ka Ehsaan – Pakistan” and National Youth and Ulema Convention, organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the prime minister condemned the ongoing atrocities committed by occupying forces in both regions.
Expressing solidarity with Palestinians, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that Israel had killed 50,000 Palestinians and violated the ceasefire by resuming its attacks. He called for unity among the Muslim world to support the oppressed.
The event, attended by federal ministers, parliamentarians, ambassadors from Islamic countries, religious scholars, and youth, was held in connection with Juma-tul-Wida and the 27th night of Ramazan, commemorating the creation of Pakistan on Laylat al-Qadr in 1947.
The prime minister emphasized that national unity and harmony were crucial to addressing Pakistan’s economic and social challenges. He urged people from all walks of life, especially ulema, to play an active role in eradicating terrorism and fostering national cohesion. He paid tribute to Pakistan’s security forces, who continue to sacrifice their lives in the fight against terrorism, warning that future generations would not forgive disunity in countering this menace.
Shehbaz Sharif stressed that Pakistan’s nuclear capability, achieved in 1998, safeguarded the country’s sovereignty, ensuring no enemy could pose a direct threat. He lamented that foreign elements supporting terrorism were also preventing Pakistan from utilizing its vast natural resources, which he believed could help pay off national debt and restore the country’s global standing.
He urged the nation to follow Quaid-e-Azam’s vision, ensuring religious freedom for all, while upholding Islamic values in governance. The prime minister reiterated that no law in Pakistan could be contrary to the teachings of Islam and pledged to invest in youth development through the PM Youth Programme, equipping them with modern technology and skills.
Calling for discipline, research, and critical thinking, he asked ulema to counter fake news and propaganda. He also acknowledged the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) recognition of Pakistan’s economic stability, crediting national efforts for this achievement.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the prime minister met with ulema and families of martyrs, reinforcing the government’s commitment to national unity and progress.
