Rawalpindi, January 13, 2025: Security forces successfully eliminated 27 terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan, the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), reported on Monday.
The operation was conducted on January 12 in the Kacchi District following credible intelligence about terrorist presence in the area. According to the ISPR, troops stealthily surrounded the location and engaged the militants in an intense exchange of fire.
“During the operation, 27 terrorists were neutralized,” the ISPR stated, adding that multiple hideouts, along with caches of arms, ammunition, and explosives, were also destroyed.
The eliminated terrorists were linked to numerous attacks on security forces and civilians and were on law enforcement agencies’ wanted list, the military said.
In its statement, the ISPR reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to thwart any attempts to destabilize Balochistan, emphasizing their dedication to ensuring peace and progress in the region.
The development comes amid an increase in militant attacks across Pakistan. Authorities have accused the Afghan Taliban of harboring Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants involved in cross-border attacks.
To address these escalating concerns, the federal government recently reappointed Ambassador Muhammad Sadiq as Pakistan’s Special Envoy to Afghanistan. His mandate includes tackling security issues related to the TTP, preventing the use of Afghan soil for terrorism, and fostering improved diplomatic relations.
