Dubai, January 25, 2025: The ICC Men’s T20I Team of the Year 2024 has been unveiled, celebrating the standout performances of the year’s finest cricketers. Pakistan’s Babar Azam, renowned for his elegance and consistency, was the lone representative from his country. Babar scored an impressive 738 runs in 24 matches, including six half-centuries, further cementing his reputation as one of the world’s premier batsmen.
India’s Rohit Sharma, a key figure in India’s triumphant T20 World Cup campaign, also featured prominently. Rohit amassed 378 runs in 11 matches at a blistering strike rate of 160.16, anchoring India’s batting efforts.
Australia’s Travis Head and England’s Phil Salt were also named for their dynamic batting displays. Head contributed 539 runs in 15 matches, while Salt added 467 runs in 17 games, both delivering match-winning performances for their teams.
India’s Hardik Pandya secured his place as an all-rounder, excelling with both bat and ball. He scored 352 runs and claimed 16 wickets in 17 matches, showcasing his versatility.
Spin bowlers Rashid Khan of Afghanistan and Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka were recognized for their exceptional performances with the ball. Rashid took 31 wickets in 14 matches, while Hasaranga dominated with 38 wickets, reaffirming their status as two of the world’s most dangerous T20 bowlers.
The team also included Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza, celebrated for his all-round brilliance, and West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran, whose finishing skills were pivotal in high-pressure situations.
