Islamabad, February 19, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi on Wednesday, congratulating him on assuming office and discussing key national matters.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister and CJP Afridi deliberated on judicial reforms, with PM Shehbaz commending the Chief Justice’s initiative to consult stakeholders for the timely delivery of justice.
The discussion also covered the country’s economic situation and security challenges. The Premier highlighted long-pending tax disputes in various courts, urging for merit-based and swift resolutions to support economic stability.
PM Shehbaz assured CJP Afridi of his government’s commitment to expediting measures to address missing persons cases, emphasizing the need for a fair and transparent process.
The Chief Justice welcomed the Prime Minister’s focus on judicial improvements and invited further suggestions for legal reforms.
