Khuzdar, March 5, 2025: At least four people were killed and ten others injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) attached to a motorcycle exploded in Naal Bazaar, Khuzdar district, Balochistan, on Wednesday.
According to Naal Police Station House Officer (SHO) Bahawal Khan Pindrani, the explosive device was remotely detonated after the motorcycle was parked beside a car. The powerful blast caused significant damage to nearby shops and vehicles.
However, a statement from Edhi Foundation put the death toll at five, with several critically injured. Rescue teams rushed the victims to a nearby hospital for treatment, while authorities launched an investigation into the attack.
Balochistan Government Spokesperson Shahid Rind strongly condemned the attack, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives.
“Such cowardly attacks will not weaken the morale of security forces and the public. Anti-peace elements are attempting to destabilize the region and disrupt development, but their efforts will be thwarted with the support of security forces and the people,” he said.
He assured that strict action would be taken to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice. Security forces have launched a search operation in the area to track down the perpetrators.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
