Islamabad, March 6, 2025 – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday chaired a review meeting on the National Youth Employment Plan, approving a comprehensive strategy to equip young people with industry-relevant skills and training.

The meeting outlined an action plan to create training and employment opportunities through various institutions over the next four years. The Prime Minister decided to personally chair monthly review meetings to oversee the implementation of the plan, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan’s youth are the nation’s greatest asset, and the government is committed to empowering them through vocational training and skill development. He highlighted initiatives aimed at enhancing manpower exports by providing internationally accredited training programs.

To ensure effective implementation, the Prime Minister directed authorities to maintain close coordination with local industries to align training programs with sector-specific needs. He also stressed the importance of assessing international labor market demands and instructed the creation of a comprehensive database to track skill requirements in local industries.

The meeting was informed that over the next four years, vocational training initiatives aim to equip 2.4 million to 6 million young people annually with the skills needed to secure employment. These programs will be designed in line with market demands, industry trends, and global manpower requirements.

Additionally, officials reported that the Digital Youth Hub is in its final stages and is set to launch this month. The Prime Minister praised the efforts of all ministries and institutions involved in the initiative.

The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema and Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, and other senior officials.
