Peshawar- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized that a nation cannot function with two sets of laws, two systems, or two separate Pakistans, stressing the need for one law and one system for all.

Speaking at a Bar Council Association event, Gandapur stated that reform is only possible if wrongdoings and bad elements are identified. He reiterated that two parallel laws and systems cannot be sustained, and everyone must be governed by the same law and system.

He added, “We must start with ourselves and take this country forward. We have not sought revenge against anyone, nor have we used provincial institutions for personal vendettas. We do not wish to sow hatred, as it only harms the nation. However, we will not stop speaking out for our rights, justice, and true freedom.”

The Chief Minister further stated that the constitution grants citizens the right to defend their rights, but noted, “Our challenges are different, and our goals should be as well. However, we are caught up in other distractions. Until we overcome this, we cannot progress.”

Addressing the legal community, Gandapur said, “The legal fraternity bears the significant responsibility of ensuring justice. Lawyers should stand for the truth and refrain from defending cases that go against justice and merit.”

He highlighted that nations only prosper where justice prevails, and a society is peaceful and content when its people are assured of their rights and justice.

The Chief Minister expressed concern over the weakness of Pakistan’s judicial system, calling for its improvement, and emphasized the crucial role of the legal community in this regard.

Gandapur also pointed out that repeated violations of the constitution have occurred due to the absence of a fair system of accountability. He argued that true progress cannot be achieved without the rule of law. He noted that Islam provides a clear path and a system of accountability, which, if adhered to, can help establish a just society.
