Portfolios assigned to new ministers, advisers

Islamabad, March 7, 2025: The federal government has announced the portfolios of newly inducted cabinet members.

Hanif Abbasi has been appointed as the Federal Minister for Railways, while Mustafa Kamal will head the Health Ministry. Khawaja Asif retains his position as Defence Minister, and Azam Nazir Tarar has been assigned the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Human Rights.

Other key appointments include:

  • Abdul Aleem Khan – Minister for Communications
  • Musadik Malik – Minister for Climate Change
  • Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui – Minister for Education
  • Chaudhry Salik – Minister for Overseas Pakistanis
  • Rana Tanveer – Minister for National Food Security
  • Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh – Chairman, Board of Investment

Additional ministerial assignments are as follows:

  • Tariq Fazal Chaudhry – Parliamentary Affairs
  • Ali Pervaiz Malik – Petroleum
  • Khalid Hussain Magsi – Science and Technology
  • Muhammad Munir Wattoo – Water Resources
  • Aurangzeb Khichi – National Heritage and Culture
  • Muhammad Junaid Anwar – Maritime Affairs
  • Raza Hayat Hiraj – Defence Production
  • Sardar Yousaf – Religious Affairs
  • Shaza Fatima – Information Technology
  • Rana Mubashir Iqbal – Public Affairs

The new cabinet members were sworn in on February 27 in a ceremony administered by President Asif Ali Zardari. The event was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani, and other dignitaries.
