Rawalpindi, March 15, 2025: Security forces killed nine terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), while two soldiers embraced martyrdom during intense exchanges of fire, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed.

The first operation was conducted in Mohmand District, where seven terrorists were eliminated. During the fierce gun battle, two brave soldiers—37-year-old Havildar Muhammad Zahid from Malakand and 26-year-old Aftab Ali Shah from Chitral—were martyred while fighting the militants.

According to the ISPR, security forces recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the slain terrorists, who were allegedly involved in multiple attacks across the region.

In a separate operation in Dera Ismail Khan, security forces successfully neutralized two more terrorists after a gunfight. The operation led to the recovery of additional weapons and ammunition.

The ISPR stated that both groups of terrorists were actively involved in various acts of terrorism, making these operations a major blow to militant networks in KP.

Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eliminating the threat of terrorism and ensuring peace in the region, the statement added.
