Islamabad, March 18, 2025: The National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad has elected Azhar Jatoi as its new President and Nayyar Ali as Secretary General in its annual election for 2025. Both candidates, representing the Journalist Panel, secured victory with a strong margin.

Azhar Jatoi won the presidential race with 1,090 votes, while Nayyar Ali claimed the secretary general post with 1,063 votes. Additionally, Waqar Abbasi of the Journalist Panel was elected as Finance Secretary, securing 1,065 votes.

The election process was digitally monitored to ensure transparency and prevent any irregularities. The NPC Election Commission has confirmed that vote counting for the positions of Vice President, Joint Secretary, and Governing Body will be completed later today.

The National Press Club Islamabad is a key representative body for journalists in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, with a membership of over 2,500 journalists. The club also serves as a platform for engagement with visiting journalists from across Pakistan and international media professionals.
