Islamabad, April 4, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday commended the successful and transparent execution of the Ramazan Relief Package 2025 and directed authorities to adopt this model for future government schemes.

Chairing a review meeting on the package’s implementation, the Prime Minister praised the efforts of the government’s core team and collaborating institutions for their effective coordination. He highlighted that, for the first time, a digital wallet system was introduced, enabling seamless and transparent fund disbursement to beneficiaries across the country, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the contributions of the State Bank of Pakistan, Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), and other institutions for ensuring transparency and efficiency in the process.

He further instructed that complaints received during the package’s rollout be carefully reviewed and used to inform future planning.

During the briefing, it was reported that 79% of the allocated funds had already been disbursed to eligible recipients. A total of 2,224 employees were deployed to ensure smooth operations, while 1,273 complaints were resolved through prompt action.

To enhance public awareness, 6.2 million robocalls, 178,700 outbound calls, and 6.1 million SMS messages were sent by banks and partner organizations. Additionally, the National Telecom Corporation’s call center handled 126,839 outbound and 158,551 inbound calls to assist the public.

The digital transformation was underscored by 1.9 million digital payments and the use of 951,191 digital wallets, marking a significant step towards the government’s Digital Nation Pakistan vision. Notably, 823,653 women and 2,541 persons with disabilities also received support through digital wallets.

A comprehensive awareness campaign was launched through electronic, print, and social media platforms to ensure maximum reach and engagement.
