Rawalpindi, April 11, 2025: Security forces successfully eliminated two terrorists, including a “high-value target,” during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Timergara area of Lower Dir district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing announced on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched following reports of the presence of militants in the area.

“During the operation, security personnel cordoned off and engaged the location effectively. Following an intense exchange of fire, two terrorists were neutralized, including a high-value target identified as Kharji Hafeezullah alias Kochwan,” the ISPR said in a brief statement. “Hafeezullah had been involved in numerous attacks targeting security forces and civilians. He was one of the most wanted individuals, with a bounty of Rs10 million on his head.”

The ISPR added that a sanitization operation is underway to ensure no other militants remain in the vicinity. “Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eradicating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability across the country.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended the armed forces for their successful action in Lower Dir. In a statement, he reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue the fight against terrorism until its complete elimination, emphasizing that the enemies of peace will never succeed in their nefarious designs.

The continued vigilance and proactive operations of Pakistan’s security forces remain vital in countering the ongoing threat of terrorism.
