Rawalpindi, April 14, 2025: Pakistan’s domestic cricket star Sahibzada Farhan etched his name into Pakistan Super League (PSL) history on Monday with a sensational century for Islamabad United against Peshawar Zalmi in the fifth match of PSL 2025 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Islamabad United came out firing—and Farhan led the charge with a blistering 106 off just 52 deliveries, hammering 13 boundaries and five sixes in a knock that set the tone for a massive total.

Farhan reached his hundred in just 49 balls, equalling the record for the fastest PSL century by an Islamabad United batter—previously set by South African Cameron Delport in 2019 against Lahore Qalandars.

His explosive innings was not just a personal triumph but also pivotal in pushing Islamabad to a commanding position. Farhan shared a 144-run stand with Colin Munro (40 off 27), dismantling the Zalmi bowling attack and maintaining a run rate well above 11 an over throughout.

Farhan was eventually dismissed in the 14th over, caught by Hussain Talat off Alzarri Joseph, but by then, the damage was well and truly done.

At the time of reporting, Islamabad United had posted 235/5 in 19 overs and were on track to surpass the 240-run mark. Jason Holder was at the crease, continuing the onslaught. Peshawar’s bowlers struggled to contain the flow of runs—Ali Raza conceded 45 in three overs, while Sufiyan Muqeem gave away 35 in his three.

With Farhan’s fiery ton, Islamabad United have not only thrilled the Rawalpindi crowd but also thrown down the gauntlet early in the tournament.
