Lahore, April 26, 2025: Amid rising political tensions between India and Pakistan, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) broadcasting company has sent back its Indian staff members. Sources confirmed that 23 Indian nationals associated with the PSL’s broadcast operations were escorted to the Wagah border following government directives to leave the country immediately.

The move comes in the wake of the deadly attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, two days ago, which claimed 26 lives and further strained relations between the two neighboring countries. In response to the escalating situation, Pakistani authorities acted swiftly to remove the Indian crew members involved in PSL coverage.

Adding to the growing strain, Rajeev Shukla, Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), announced that India would no longer participate in any future bilateral cricket series with Pakistan. His statement has deepened the rift between the two cricketing rivals and signaled a blow to any prospects of sports diplomacy in the near future.

The decision to send back the Indian broadcast crew highlights the deteriorating ties between India and Pakistan, as both governments have exchanged strong rhetoric following the recent events in Kashmir.

The incident casts a shadow over ongoing efforts to maintain a degree of normalcy in sporting engagements between the two nations, traditionally seen as a unifying force even amid political tensions.
