Mumbai, May 4, 2025: Actor Babil Khan, son of late screen legend Irrfan Khan, found himself at the center of online speculation this weekend after a viral video appeared to show him accusing prominent Bollywood personalities of mistreatment.

The emotional clip, which quickly circulated on Reddit and across social media platforms, showed a visibly distressed Babil naming actors like Shanaya Kapoor, Ananya Panday, and Arjun Kapoor, saying that “Bollywood is so rude.” The video’s authenticity was questioned by many — with some suggesting it might be AI-generated, while others expressed concern for the young actor’s mental well-being. Matters escalated when Babil deleted his Instagram account shortly after, fueling further speculation.

In response, Babil’s team issued an official statement on Sunday, clarifying the situation and urging restraint. “Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days — and this was one of them. We want to reassure all of his well-wishers that he is safe and will be feeling better soon,” the statement read.

The team emphasized that the clip had been taken out of context, explaining that Babil was not targeting his peers but instead expressing a mix of personal vulnerability and admiration for certain industry artists. “His comments were intended to recognize the contributions of talents like Siddhant Chaturvedi, Adarsh Gourav, Raghav Juyal, and Arijit Singh, who, in his view, are helping restore authenticity and emotional depth in Indian cinema,” they added.

The statement also appealed to media outlets and online users to refrain from drawing conclusions based on fragmented content.

Babil Khan, who made a notable debut in Qala and was recently seen in Logout, has received praise for his emotionally rich performances and openness about mental health — a rarity in an industry often characterized by stoicism and image management.
