Islamabad, May 7, 2025: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that Pakistan has given a powerful and proportionate response to India’s cowardly cross-border aggression, targeting only military assets while upholding the laws of war.
In a press briefing on Wednesday morning from the control room, Minister Tarar confirmed that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down five Indian aircraft, including a drone, and destroyed multiple Indian military posts along the Line of Control (LoC).
“In the darkness of the night, the enemy targeted innocent civilians, including mosques and madrasas,” Tarar said. “But Pakistan’s response was befitting and comprehensive. We did not target any civilians — only military positions and aircraft engaged in aggression.”
According to the minister, the Indian Army has been forced to raise the white flag at several locations, particularly at the Chora Complex post along the LoC, signaling a retreat and admission of defeat. “Even Indian media has shown footage of their wrecked aircraft — the truth can no longer be hidden,” he added.
Tarar shared that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif monitored the situation throughout the night, receiving constant updates from military leadership. The PM has also called a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting at 10am Wednesday morning to assess the latest developments and determine Pakistan’s next diplomatic and strategic steps.
Emphasizing the national resolve, Atta Tarar stated that the entire Pakistani nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces. “When the Pakistani nation unites, it gives a befitting response to any enemy. Today, we are proud of our brave soldiers of the army, navy, and air force,” he said.
He further noted that the prayers of the Pakistani people and their unwavering support gave the armed forces the morale and strength needed to achieve superiority in this conflict.
Tarar also dismissed Indian claims linking Pakistan to the Pahalgam incident, saying, “India has no evidence — not even a shred. Their narrative is collapsing, and the world can now see through their propaganda.”
Attaullah Tarar concluded by saying that Pakistan upheld the etiquette of war despite being under attack. “We exercised restraint where necessary but responded with full force where required. India’s disgrace lies not just in its failed military adventure but in the fact that it has now been forced to raise the white flag in front of the world.”
