Islamabad, June 15, 2025: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss the rapidly escalating regional crisis following Israel’s air strikes on Iran.

According to a spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office, both ministers expressed deep concern and strongly condemned the unprovoked Israeli aggression targeting Iranian territory, including residential areas and strategic military and nuclear installations.

Deputy Prime Minister Dar reaffirmed his commitment to attend the upcoming OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum in Istanbul next week. The events are being held in honour of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

This high-level exchange follows a similar telephone conversation a day earlier between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdoğan, during which the two leaders also condemned Israel’s actions and warned of the potential consequences for regional peace and stability.

On June 13, Israel launched a series of coordinated air strikes on Iran, reportedly hitting multiple military sites, nuclear facilities, and residential neighbourhoods in Tehran. The attacks are said to have killed at least six nuclear scientists, several high-ranking IRGC commanders, and numerous civilians.

In a swift and forceful response, Iran launched ballistic missile strikes on key locations in Israeli-occupied territories, dramatically escalating tensions and raising fears of a broader regional conflict.

The developments have sparked widespread international concern, with calls for restraint and urgent diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation.
