Karachi, June 20, 2025: Renowned Pakistani television and film actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her home in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block 7, Karachi, nearly a week after she is believed to have passed away. She was 76.

According to police and local media reports, Khan had been living alone and remained out of the public eye for many years. Her decomposed body was discovered after neighbors reported a foul odor coming from her residence. Authorities broke into the house and recovered the body, which was then moved to Jinnah Hospital for post-mortem examination to determine the cause and time of death.

Following medical examination, the body was transferred to the Edhi Foundation mortuary in Sohrab Goth. Police have launched an investigation and are currently questioning neighbors and relatives to piece together details of her final days.

Born on November 22, 1948, Ayesha Khan was a prominent figure in Pakistan’s golden era of television. She was the elder sister of the late actress Khalida Riyasat and starred in numerous iconic dramas including Akhri Chattan, Tipu Sultan: The Tiger Lord, Dehleez, Daraarein, Bol Meri Machli, Saibaan, and Ek Aur Aasman.

She also made her mark in Pakistani cinema, appearing in films such as Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Muskaan, and Fatima.

Khan’s tragic and solitary death has cast a somber light on the lives of aging artists who once graced the screen but faded into obscurity. Fans and members of the entertainment industry have begun sharing tributes online, remembering her contributions to Pakistan’s cultural landscape.
