Army Deployment Ordered in Islamabad for Upcoming SCO Summit

Islamabad, October 4, 2024 – A notification has been issued for the deployment of the army in Islamabad ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.

As per the notification, the deployment is being carried out under Article 245 of the Constitution, with troops set to remain stationed in the capital until October 17 to maintain security during the summit.

The SCO Summit is scheduled to take place in Islamabad on October 15 and 16.
