Lahore, July 15, 2025: Rubina Khan, elder sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has once again raised serious concerns about senior party figure Zulfi Bukhari, accusing him of being promoted by the establishment as a “consensus leader” within PTI.

In a strongly worded statement issued Tuesday, Rubina Khan questioned Bukhari’s sudden reemergence on the political scene after a prolonged absence. “After disappearing for several months, is this man now going to provide a vision?” she asked, casting doubt on his credibility and capacity for leadership.

She criticized Bukhari’s past roles, claiming he had underperformed during his tenures in tourism and as a party spokesperson. Describing his public statements as “clichéd and hollow,” she alleged that Bukhari failed to present any meaningful international strategy, particularly on human rights issues.

Khan also accused Bukhari of lacking diplomatic acumen in addressing human rights concerns following decisions taken against PTI leaders. She urged party supporters to question his motives and loyalties, alleging that “it is clear he is not working for the PTI founder.”

Recalling a conversation with Bukhari in 2023, she said he dismissed concerns about limited coverage of human rights abuses in the UK, allegedly stating there was “no interest” in Imran Khan abroad.

Sources close to Zulfi Bukhari have rejected Rubina Khan’s allegations as entirely unfounded and politically motivated. They emphasized that Bukhari continues to support PTI’s core objectives and has played an active role in representing the party internationally.

Rubina Khan has previously voiced similar criticisms of Bukhari, with today’s statement reflecting deeper divisions within key figures close to Imran Khan. The latest accusations come at a time when PTI is already navigating internal rifts and mounting political pressure ahead of a proposed protest campaign.
