Karachi, July 16, 2025: As the investigation deepens into the mysterious death of Pakistani model and actress Humaira Asghar Ali, chilling details have emerged suggesting that she attempted to contact 14 individuals before vanishing without a trace nearly nine months ago—yet not a single person responded.

According to police sources, Humaira, 32, made her final digital communications on October 7, 2024, reaching out via calls and messages to multiple contacts, including a prominent television director based in Islamabad. That day now marks the last known activity from her phone and social media accounts. After October 7, all digital communication from her ceased entirely.

Her decomposed body was discovered on July 8, 2025, inside her locked apartment in DHA Phase VI, Karachi, when a court-appointed bailiff entered to execute an eviction notice over unpaid rent. Police, who accompanied the bailiff, found her remains in an advanced state of decomposition, strongly indicating she died around the same time she went off the grid.

Police recovered three mobile phones, a tablet, handwritten notes, and critical documents from her apartment. All electronic devices had gone dark after early October. Two SIM cards were found to be inactive, and authorities confirmed no further call, message, or data activity beyond that point.

“The expiry dates on food in her refrigerator were from September 2024,” said DIG South Asad Raza in a press briefing. “Electricity was disconnected soon after due to unpaid bills.”

One of the last notifications on her phone came from a ride-hailing app. A message sent by stylist Danish Maqsood on October 20 remained unread, and her WhatsApp’s last seen was registered on October 7.

Authorities have identified her final outreach attempts as the investigation’s central lead. Police have already begun contacting some of the individuals she tried to reach. A formal statement is expected soon from the Islamabad-based director she contacted before her death.

The initial post-mortem examination, conducted by police surgeon Dr. Summaiya Syed, was inconclusive due to the body’s condition. However, DNA and toxicology samples have been collected. “The forensic and chemical reports will be essential to uncovering the circumstances of her death,” Dr. Syed said.

Although no signs of external injury were found, authorities have not ruled out foul play. Investigators noted that the apartment adjacent to hers was unoccupied, which could explain why no neighbors reported any odors or suspicious activity.

Once a rising star in Pakistan’s entertainment industry and a well-known social media influencer, Humaira had reportedly become increasingly reclusive. She lived alone for seven years in the apartment, and her prolonged absence went unnoticed even by her professional associates.

The tragedy was further compounded when her family initially refused to claim her body. DIG Raza confirmed that her father declined to take custody of her remains. Eventually, her brother-in-law traveled from Lahore to accept her body for burial.

As forensic teams continue to examine her apartment, investigators are now reviewing her financial records, digital activity, and personal relationships to determine whether her death was accidental, self-inflicted, or the result of a crime. The flat remains sealed while evidence is gathered.

Virat Kohli’s brief Instagram ‘like’ sparks viral debate and online frenzy New Delhi, April 18, 2026: Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has once again become the focus of intense social media discussion after a brief Instagram interaction triggered widespread online attention. The episode began when Kohli reportedly liked a photo post shared by German influencer Lizleys, which also featured Indian photographer Advait Vaidya. The interaction quickly went viral, particularly as Kohli does not follow the influencer on Instagram, prompting users to circulate screenshots across multiple platforms. Although the “like” was later removed, the moment had already gained traction online, leading to memes, speculation, and comparisons with a similar incident in 2025 involving another influencer. Lizleys later addressed the situation in comments to Indian media, describing the sudden attention as unexpected and overwhelming. She said the rapid viral spread made the experience uncomfortable, adding that she did not anticipate it becoming a major public discussion. She also expressed empathy toward Kohli, suggesting that there may have been no deliberate intent behind the interaction and questioning why it escalated into a trending topic. Photographer Advait Vaidya further added to the buzz by sharing a screenshot of the engagement on his social media account, thanking Kohli for the visibility the post received. Kohli has previously addressed similar online incidents, noting that such interactions can sometimes occur due to platform algorithms and urging the public to avoid overinterpretation. The incident once again highlights the heightened scrutiny faced by global celebrities, where even brief digital actions can rapidly evolve into viral narratives in the age of social media.
