Dubai, August 2, 2025: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially announced that the Asia Cup 2025 will be hosted in the United Arab Emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi confirmed as the tournament’s official venues.

The marquee clash between arch-rivals Pakistan and India will take place on September 14 at the iconic Dubai International Cricket Stadium, which will also host several key fixtures, including the tournament final on September 28.

The announcement was made by ACC President Mohsin Naqvi, who said, “I am looking forward to organizing a memorable Asia Cup,” confirming that all matches will be staged in the UAE.

The 2025 edition of the Asia Cup will follow the T20 International format for the third time in its history. The eight participating teams have been divided into two groups:

  • Group A: Pakistan, India, Oman, UAE
  • Group B: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong

The tournament will begin on September 9 with the opening match between Afghanistan and Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi.

Pakistan’s campaign begins on September 12 against Oman, followed by the high-octane clash with India on September 14, and concludes with a group-stage match against UAE on September 17, all in Dubai.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four round, scheduled from September 20 to 26. The Asia Cup final is set for September 28 in Dubai.

Significantly, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has received clearance from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs to participate in the tournament and face Pakistan — a decision closely watched amid ongoing political tensions.

The Asia Cup 2025 promises high-stakes cricket, with Pakistan and India set to renew their storied rivalry in front of a packed Dubai crowd. The tournament also serves as a key warm-up for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, making every fixture crucial.
