Islamabad, August 3, 2025: President Asif Ali Zardari and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian held a key meeting at the President’s House on Sunday, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and regional cooperation.

President Zardari warmly welcomed the Iranian leader and underscored the fraternal ties between the two neighboring nations, grounded in shared religion, culture, and mutual respect.

During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation across diverse and mutually beneficial sectors. They held in-depth discussions on regional and global developments, stressing the need for coordinated diplomatic efforts to prevent conflicts, de-escalate tensions, and promote peace and stability across the region.

President Zardari lauded Iran’s principled stance on critical regional issues and expressed gratitude for Tehran’s solidarity and support during difficult times. He also acknowledged Iran’s consistent backing of regional cooperation frameworks.

On the occasion, President Zardari expressed special appreciation for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei for Tehran’s unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their struggle against India’s illegal occupation. He also strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Iran, paying tribute to the resilience and unity of the Iranian nation during the recent 12-day war.

In response, President Pezeshkian thanked the government and people of Pakistan for their steadfast support during the conflict, particularly Pakistan’s constructive role in regional diplomacy and efforts to facilitate peaceful solutions to ongoing crises.

Both leaders reaffirmed their resolve to deepen cooperation in political, economic, and security spheres, while continuing to work together for a peaceful and prosperous future for the region.
