Riyadh, August 7, 2025: The 45th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting, and Interpreting the Holy Quran will commence on Saturday, Safar 15, 1447 AH (August 9, 2025), at the Grand Mosque in Makkah under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Organised and supervised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, the event will feature participants from 128 countries — the highest number of nations in the competition’s history since its launch in 1399 AH. This record participation underscores the contest’s global stature and leadership in the field of Quranic competitions.

Widely regarded as one of the most prestigious international Quranic events, the competition reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting Quranic programs, enhancing its role in serving the Holy Quran worldwide, and promoting its civilizational message of goodness and moderation.
