Islamabad announces local holiday on August 13

Islamabad, August 12, 2025: The district administration has declared Wednesday, August 13, a local holiday in the federal capital.

A notification issued by District Magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon stated that the holiday will apply within the revenue limits of Islamabad. Essential services, however, will remain operational, including the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration and Police, Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), and all hospitals.

Authorities and relevant ministries have been directed to inform their staff and ensure the announcement is widely disseminated through press and media channels.
