Peshawar, October 10, 2024-The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Grand Jirga has entrusted Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur with the authority to form a negotiation jirga. Following the Grand Jirga, a statement was issued confirming that the gathering, hosted by the Chief Minister at the Chief Minister’s House, included the participation of leaders and representatives from all political parties. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, along with all political parties, delegated decision-making power to the Chief Minister for this jirga.

According to the statement, the negotiation jirga will engage with relevant stakeholders to resolve the ongoing issues. The process of consultations and the development of a comprehensive plan will be completed soon.

The jirga assigned the responsibility of peacefully resolving the matter to the Chief Minister, who accepted the authority with gratitude. The statement further emphasized that consultations and planning will be concluded swiftly under the Chief Minister’s supervision, who announced that he will personally oversee and host the jirga’s proceedings.

While addressing the jirga, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur emphasized that dialogue is the only way to resolve conflicts and that violence or confrontation is not the solution.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, reiterated the need to bring all parties to the negotiation table and find a peaceful resolution to the issue. Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, represented the federal government at the jirga. Other prominent political leaders in attendance included Aimal Wali, Professor Ibrahim, Mohsin Dawar, Mian Iftikhar, Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, and Sikandar Sherpao.
