Rawalpindi, August 25, 2025: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has lodged a formal complaint against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, alleging that he is being denied basic rights in Adiala Jail under her directives.

Khan’s lawyer, Tabish Farooq, sent the application to the Central Police Office (CPO) via courier, naming eight individuals including the jail superintendent, ASP Zainab, and SHO Aizaz. The complaint claims Khan is being kept in poor conditions, with no light in his cell, restrictions on family meetings, and denial of basic prisoner rights.

The application further alleges that the actions are politically motivated and accuses the Punjab CM of previously making threatening remarks against Khan, calling him a “fitna” (troublemaker) who must be “eliminated.” It also states that jail officials and police officers are jointly harassing Khan’s family.

According to the lawyer, the jail authorities are violating court directives, including orders allowing Khan’s sisters to visit him. The petition calls for legal action against Maryam Nawaz and seven other officials.

The complaint has now been formally filed, and the matter awaits police review to determine whether a case will be registered.
