Islamabad, August 27, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to hold a series of high-level meetings with global leaders during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in China next week, diplomatic sources confirmed.
A key engagement will be his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where discussions are expected to focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation, regional security, and pressing international developments.
The prime minister will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping to review Pakistan-China relations, with special emphasis on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
On the sidelines, Shehbaz Sharif will also hold talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and several other participating leaders.
The prime minister is scheduled to arrive in China on August 30 to attend the summit and bilateral engagements.
