Lahore, September 16, 2025: An unbeaten century from opener Sidra Amin powered Pakistan to 255/4 in the first ODI of the three-match series against South Africa at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.
After being put under early pressure with the loss of Shawaal Zulfiqar (0) in the second over, Sidra steadied the innings alongside Muneeba Ali. The pair stitched together a record 147-run stand for the second wicket, giving the hosts control. Muneeba fell to Ayabonga Khaka for 76 off 94 balls, hitting 11 fours.
Sidra then added 68 runs with Aliya Riaz (33) before the latter was run out in the 43rd over. Captain Fatima Sana departed cheaply for five, but Sidra held firm, anchoring the innings to finish on 121 not out from 150 deliveries, decorated with 12 boundaries. Khaka was the most effective South African bowler, claiming 2/36 in nine overs, while Tumi Sekhukhune picked up one wicket.
Pakistan will now look to defend their total as South Africa begin their chase under lights.
